A man died after he was shot in the face Thursday morning in the South Chicago neighborhood.

Ramon Gartman, 33, was discovered unresponsive in the 8400 block of South Commercial at 11:48 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his face, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Gartman, of the 7600 block of South Kingston, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:12 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.
