A man was shot and critically wounded inside a Grand Crossing apartment building early Friday on the South Side.

The 57-year-old man was inside a first-floor apartment in the 1400 block of East 69th Street about 1:15 a.m. when shots were fired from the hallway and he was hit in the right leg, police said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
