A South Side man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to a fatal 2012 stabbing in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.
Julian Williams, 24, was accused of fatally stabbing Kenneth Alexander of south suburban Park Forest during a domestic argument on Aug. 30, 2012, in the 7000 block of South Artesian, authorities said at the time.
Williams pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of second-degree murder, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison by Judge Mary Margaret Brosnahan, according to court records.
Alexander, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene, the medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy found he died of multiple stab wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.
Williams, of the 6900 block of South Ada, must serve at least 50 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole, court records show. He must serve three years of supervised release after his sentence is complete, and will receive credit for more than 2 1/2 years spent in Cook County Jail since his arrest.
