A West Pullman man has been charged with shooting a 20-year-old man to death in front of his mother last year on the Far South Side.
Burundi A. Martin, 25, is charged with first-degree murder for the shooting in the 10600 block of South Yates about 9:10 p.m. Oct. 3, 2014, according to a statement from Chicago Police.
Tony McIntosh, 20, was standing outside his home when Martin approached on foot and fired multiple times, hitting him in the head and arm, authorities said. McIntosh was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:50 p.m.
McIntosh was smoking cigarettes on the back porch of his South Deering home in front of his mother when he was shot, a relative told the Chicago Sun-Times after his death. His mother, a certified nursing assistant, performed CPR on her son until paramedics arrived.
Martin was arrested at his home in the 12200 block of South Ada about 10:30 a.m. Thursday after he was identified as the shooter, police said. He was expected to appear in bond court Friday.
