A man was shot in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side early Friday.

About 1:45 a.m., the 20-year-old was walking in the 4800 block of West Jackson when he heard gunfire and felt pain, police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds to his right calf and right thigh, police said. His condition had stabilized.
