A man died Friday morning after he was shot multiple times in south suburban Hazel Crest.

Jared N. Neely, 21, was shot in the 17600 block of Arlington Lane in Hazel Crest, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived on the same block as the shooting.

Neely was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 9:27 a.m. Friday, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Saturday revealed he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Hazel Crest police could not be immediately reached for comment Saturday.
