Man shot in ankle in Roseland

A man was shot in the ankle early Sunday in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 33-year-old was in a backyard in the 200 block of West 101st Street at 12:35 a.m. when he “heard shots and felt pain,” police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

He was shot in the leg and taken in good condition to Roseland Community Hospital, Gaines said.

Police said the shooting was possibly a drive-by attack.
