A 65-year-old man died the morning after he crashed his motorcycle Friday in the Northwest Side Norwood Park neighborhood.

About 11 p.m. Friday, Thomas Gilleran was driving his motorcycle south in the 5700 block of North Canfield when it struck a curb and crashed, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. No other vehicles were involved, and he was the only person injured.

Gilleran, of the 3500 block of North Octavia, was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he died at 9:06 a.m. Saturday, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy performed Sunday ruled his death an accident and found he died of multiple injuries from the crash.
