In 197 plate appearances this season, Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo has been hit by 12 pitches.

Pitchers must not want to give Rizzo anything to hit since he’s hitting .314 with nine home runs and 29 RBI this season.

Rizzo has been hit everywhere from the elbow to the thigh to the back.

Rizzo leads the MLB in the hit by pitch category — Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon, who is second on the list, has been hit by nine pitches this season.

Last season, Rizzo was hit by 15 pitches the entire season, and he’s closing in on that mark well before the All-Star break.
