A person was stabbed Wednesday afternoon in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The attack happened in the 5600 block of South California about 1 p.m., police said.

The victim, a male whose age was not immediately available, was stabbed once in the lower back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
