Man shot multiple times in Elgin

A man was wounded in a shooting that police say was not random early Wednesday in northwest suburban Elgin.

Officers responded to a reported shooting in the 0-100 block of DuBois Avenue at 3:50 a.m., according to a statement from Elgin police.

A 33-year-old man had been shot multiple times, police said. He was taken to Provena Saint Joseph Hospital, where he is being treated.

The Major Investigations Division is looking into the shooting, which was “not likely a random act against the victim,” police said.
