Mark Wahlberg and Jimmy Butler have been friends ever since the two met up for some one-on-one back in 2013, when Wahlberg was in Chicago to film a Transformers movie.

And now that Butler is a restricted free agent, Wahlberg is doing his best to woo the star wing to his beloved Celtics.

Watch Wahlberg and Butler together this past weekend in Beverly Hills:

Wahlberg was asked about Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in the same interview:

“He’s the best. Tom Brady is the Jimmy Butler of football,” Wahlberg said.

Wahlberg also previously toasted Butler publicly after a game-winner against the Hawks early in the 2014-15 season.

My guy @markwahlberg told me it would be a big year! Thanks for the support brotha! A video posted by Jimmy Butler (@jimmybutler) on Oct 17, 2014 at 8:23am PDT
