Man shot in ankle in Roseland

A man was shot Wednesday afternoon in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The shooting happened in the 0-100 block of East 100th Place about 1 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said.

A 29-year-old man was shot in the left ankle and taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Lemmon said.

Authorities do not know the cause of the fire, which was put down in about 30 minutes.
