Police are searching for a man who tried to lure two children from a playground Wednesday night in west suburban Lisle.

The two children, a 5-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl, were playing at a playground at an apartment complex on Warrenville Road just west of Yackley Avenue about 7 p.m. when they were approached by a man, according to a statement from Lisle police.

The man tried to lure the children to his vehicle by promising toys and a game of hide and seek, police said. The children began walking with the man, but stopped before getting in the vehicle. An older sibling came and took the children home.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, tall and skinny with balding hair and a “stubbly, scraggly” beard, police said. He was last seen wearing a red Chicago Bulls T-shirt and jeans, and left the area in a maroon Chevrolet Equinox.

No injuries or assaults were reported.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lisle police at (630) 271-4200.
