A man was shot Thursday night while riding in a vehicle in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

About 9:10 p.m., the 23-year-old was in a vehicle traveling north in the 5800 block of South Wentworth when a dark-colored sedan pulled up alongside and someone inside opened fire, police said.

The man was driven to Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center with a gunshot wound to the upper back, police said. His condition had stabilized.
