The Chicago Fire Department was at the scene of a roof collapse Friday afternoon in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The roof collapsed into a two-story brick building in the 1300 block of South Springfield, Fire Media Affairs said in a Tweet posted at 1:33 p.m.

Workers had been present in the building earlier, and crews were still searching for victims to determine if anyone was injured, according to fire officials.
