A 12-year-old boy was shot in the hand Sunday afternoon in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side.

The shooting happened about 2:40 p.m. in the 1900 block of West Birchwood, according to preliminary information from police.

He was taken Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where his condition stabilized, police said.

He wasn’t being cooperative with investigators, police said.
