Schaumburg man accused of posting child porn to Instagram

A northwest suburban man is facing felony charges for uploading child pornography to Instagram, authorities said.

Caleb Trimble, 21, is charged with one felony count of disseminating child pornography, according to a statement from the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.

Prosecutors claim Trimble used the social photography network at least 10 times between April and June of 2014 to upload images depicting child pornography, the statement said.

An investigation found Trimble had two Instagram accounts, and an Internet service provider confirmed the IP address was associated with his residence, the statement said.

The Schaumburg resident appeared in bond court Friday in Rolling Meadows and was ordered held on $50,000, the state’s attorney’s office said. He will next appear in court May 21.

Schaumburg police and the Cook County state’s attorney’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigated the case.
