A person is in custody after a woman was stabbed to death Tuesday afternoon in the West Ridge neighborhood on the North Side, police said.

The woman was fatally stabbed about 4 p.m. in the 6200 block of North Bell, police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said.

The victim is an adult but her exact age was not known Tuesday afternoon. Police are speaking to a person in custody in connection with the attack.

The stabbing appears to be a domestic-related incident, a police source said.
