Police: Man stabbed to death by girlfriend in South Deering

A man was stabbed to death during a domestic fight early Tuesday in the South Deering neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said.

The 26-year-old was in a fight with his girlfriend at 1:19 a.m. when she stabbed him in the chest, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said. The man was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Gaines said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the death Tuesday morning.

The man’s girlfriend has been taken into custody and charges against her are pending, Gaines said.
