SHARE 55-year-old man shot to death in NW Indiana

A 55-year-old man died Wednesday morning after he was shot in northwest Indiana.

Cecil Pendleton Jr. was pronounced dead at Methodist Hospital Southlake in Merrillville at 6:19 a.m., according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office.

Pendleton was shot in the 1000 block of East 58th Place in Merrillville, the same block where he lived, according to the coroner’s office.

His death was ruled a homicide.

Merrillville police did not immediately return a call for comment.
