A man was shot late Wednesday morning in the South Side Chatham neighborhood.

The shooting happened during an attempted robbery in the 800 block of East 84th Street at 11:50 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Stacey Cooper said.

The 29-year-old victim was shot in the leg and was in good condition at the scene, Cooper said. Hospital information was not immediately available.
