A Skokie man was arrested after police caught him breaking into a vehicle in the northern suburb last week.

Devonte Johnson, 25, was arrested after police responded about 9:40 a.m. April 29 to a report of a burglary to a vehicle in the 3700 block of Davis Street, Skokie police said in a statement.

Officers found Johnson rummaging through the vehicle, police said.

Johnson is also charged with four other incidents in Skokie in late April, police said, though details were not immediately released.

He was charged with two counts of burglary to a motor vehicle, two counts of possession of stolen property, one count of criminal trespass to a vehicle and one count of obstructing identification, police said.

Johnson, of the 8300 block of Christiana Avenue, was ordered held on a $25,000 bond and will next appear in court May 21.
