A 26-year-old man who was shot to death late Friday in the South Side Gresham neighborhood has been identified as a south suburban man.

About 10:10 p.m., officers responding to a call of shots fired in the 7900 block of South Aberdeen found the man lying on a sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the chest, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Brian Pridgeon, of the 18100 block of Versailles Lane in Hazel Crest, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:15 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

His death was ruled a homicide.
