A dean’s assistant at St. Charles North High School has been charged with sexually assaulting a minor.

Christopher A. Lee, 29, is charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault, and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, all felonies, according to a statement from the Kane County state’s attorney’s office.

Lee, of the 300 block of North 15th Street in St. Charles, had sexual contact with a victim under 18 years old sometime between Feb. 1 and May 6 of this year, prosecutors said.

Police began the investigation after receiving an anonymous tip that Lee was in an inappropriate relationship with the victim, whom he knew.

Lee is an employee at St. Charles North High School, prosecutors said. The school’s website lists him as a dean’s assistant.

Bond was set at $150,000 Friday, according to the state’s attorney’s office. If he posts bond, Lee is prohibited from having direct or indirect contact with the victim, being within 150 feet of the victim’s home, or having unsupervised contact with anyone younger than 18.

If convicted, he faces up to 8 years in prison, prosecutors said. He would also be required to register for life as a sex offender.
