Man shot while driving in West Englewood

A man was shot Thursday afternoon while driving in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The man, 26, was driving in the 1600 block of West 71st Street about 5:45 p.m. when someone fired shots in his direction, police said.

A bullet came through the car’s door and he was shot in the lower right leg, police said. The man drove himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
