All westbound lanes on the Eisenhower Expressway were temporarily shut down after someone inside a vehicle fired shots at another driver Monday night on the West Side.

The shooting occurred about 8:15 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-290 near the Kostner exit, Illinois State Police said. No one was hit and witnesses told police about five or six shots were heard.

Traffic was being diverted to Kostner, police said. Lanes were back open by 10:45 p.m., police said.
