Iowa State basketball coach Fred Hoiberg boarded a private plane bound for Chicago on Monday afternoon and may formally become the next Bulls coach as early as Monday night, reports CBS Sports.

Here’s Hoiberg boarding the plane after meeting with the media at the Ames, Iowa, airport.

Hoiberg told reporters nothing has been finalized with the Bulls regarding their head coaching vacancy.

He has been the favorite to take the job previously held by Tom Thibodeau, who was fired last week. Hoiberg had been the frontrunner for weeks, even before Thibodeau’s dismissal.
