A 22-year-old woman was shot in the head Monday night in the Chatham neighborhood.

The woman was shot while riding in a car about 7:45 p.m. in the 200 block of West 81st Street, police said. Another vehicle pulled alongside and someone inside opened fire.

The woman is not thought to be the intended target, police said.

She was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was listed in serious condition.
