Two men were shot Monday morning near an elementary school in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The men, ages 20 and 28, were both shot about 11:55 a.m. while they were sitting in a car in the 700 block of North Long, according to preliminary information from police.

Maps show Howe Elementary School is located on that block.

The 20-year-old man was shot in the upper left arm, while the other man was shot in the right hand, police said. They were both listed in good condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
