UPDATE: The Pixies will be playing Metro tonight, in light of the postponed gig with Robert Plant. For tickets, click here.

Illness, specifically laryngitis, has forced the postponement of tonight’s Robert Plant And The Sensational Space Shifters concert at FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island.

The show has been rescheduled for September 23 at the venue; tickets for tonight’s show will be honored.

Refunds will be made available at point of purchase until June 19 in the event ticket holders are unable to make the new date.

Note: The Pixies will not be appearing at the Sept. 23 concert. A new opening act will be announced at a later date.

In a statement, Plant said:

I’m not used to this. I just want to keep on doing what I set out to do when I first came to America — give 140% every night and be the best I can be at every show. It’s maddening and frustrating to realize I can’t do that right now. But I’ll be back.
