Could Steph Curry’s MVP award be LeBron James’ secret motivation? | AP

ESPN’s Doris Burke tried to drag it out of LeBron James moments after the Cavs disposed of the Warriors in Game 3.

The King wouldn’t bite.

Later, LeBron joined Dwyane Wade, who was working as an analyst for ESPN. D-Wade, who did terrific work all night but especially during the interview of his former Heat teammate, asked a very pointed question about motivation. He referenced Michael Jordan and how he felt dissed when Karl Malone won the MVP in 1997, but ultimately MJ won the title and NBA Finals MVP along with it. Wade wondered if James also had “an extra chip” after Steph Curry won the award this year.

James has hinted at a secret motivation leading up to and throughout the NBA Finals.

At first, James shrugs it off, but later he comes back to it and makes it known that he finished “third.” James Harden was second. [Go to the 3:08 mark]
