A 53-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash Thursday morning in DeKalb County.

Robert J. Bolz was driving a silver 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix on Baseline Road west of Irene Road in Kirkland when he drove off the shoulder about 9:12 a.m., according to a statement from the DeKalb County sheriff’s office.

Bolz then overcorrected the steering wheel, which caused the car to flip over onto its roof, police said. A nearby resident heard the crash and called 911.

Bolz, of the 31500 block of Pleasant Hill Drive in Kingston, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The sheriff’s and coroner’s offices are investigating the crash.
