Police are warning residents in the Southwest Side Chicago Lawn neighborhood about four burglaries that have taken place in the past two weeks.

In each case, a suspect or suspects got into a residence through a door or window in order to steal property, police said. The burglaries happened:

  • About 3:30 p.m. May 31 in the 3000 block of West 63rd;
  • About 11:40 p.m. June 2 in the 6200 block of South Mozart;
  • About 7:15 p.m. Sunday in the 6300 block of South Whipple; and
  • About 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 6300 block of South Sacramento.

Residents should keep their doors and windows locked and report suspicious activity immediately, police said.

The boy was near a sidewalk about 4:05 p.m. in the 13100 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue when he was shot in the chest.
