A northwest suburban man has been charged with exposing himself and masturbating in public earlier this week in Batavia.

Richard S. Moscato, 39, is facing two misdemeanor counts of public indecency, according to a statement from Batavia police.

At 7:34 a.m. Wednesday, Moscato drove a gray four-door car up to a female victim near Larkspur Lane and Thrun Drive, and she reported seeing him expose himself and masturbate, police said.

At 7:30 a.m. Thursday, he pulled up next to another female and asked for directions, police said. When she got closer to the car, she noticed he was not wearing pants and was masturbating.

Both victims gave similar descriptions of the driver, the car and its license plate, which was registered to Moscato, police said.

Moscato, of the 700 block of Kathi Drive in Hampshire, was located in Aurora, brought to the Batavia Police Department for questioning and ultimately charged with public indecency, according to police. If convicted, he could spend up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
