A 23-year-old man who had been missing for several weeks was found in his vehicle in a pond in northwest Indiana Thursday, officials said.
Michael Hernandez was pronounced dead at High Meadows Pond, which is near Greenwood Avenue and Yorktown Street in Crown Point, Indiana, according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office.
The coroner’s office determined his cause of death was drowning during a motor vehicle accident.
Hernandez, of the 14600 block of Georgia Street in Crown Point, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:12 p.m. and his death was ruled an accident, the coroner’s office said.
