A woman was killed and a man was injured in a shooting early Saturday in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

Kelly Burrell, 23, and the 20-year-old man were on a porch in the 7300 block of South Green at 2:50 a.m. when a light-colored vehicle drove up and someone inside fired shots, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

Burrell was shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at the hospital, authorities said. She lived in the same block where she was shot, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and a graze wound to the abdomen and his condition was stabilized, according to police.
