SHARE Police warn of garage burglaries on West Side

Police issued an alert after several recent garage burglaries on the West Side.

In each incident, at least one person forces their way into a garage and steals property, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

The burglaries occurred:

  • Between 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. June 1, 2 in the 1100 block of North Central
  • Between 4 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. June 3 in the 5400 block of West Thomas
  • Between midnight and 2:30 p.m. June 3 in the 5400 block of West Thomas
  • Between 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. June 3 in the 900 block of North Latrobe
  • Between 6:30 p.m. and 7:15 a.m. June 7, 8 in the 5400 block of West Thomas
  • Between noon and 10:30 a.m. June 11, 12 in the 5400 block of West Thomas
  • Between 6:30 p.m. and 7:15 a.m. June 11, 12 in the 5400 block of West Thomas
  • Between noon and 10:30 a.m. June 11, 12 in the 5400 block of West Haddon
  • Between 5:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. June 13 in the 800 block of North Lockwood

Police said in one incident a 6-foot-1, 170-pound black man with a tattoo on his face was seen by a witness. No suspect description was provided for any of the other incidents.
