A 20-year-old man was shot and seriously injured in the Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side Sunday afternoon.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired about 12:50 p.m. in the 2800 block of West Polk found him on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the back, police said.

He was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
