A 15-year-old boy died after accidentally shooting himself Friday morning in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

Bobby McCullough suffered a gunshot wound to the head about 7:45 a.m. in the 4700 block of West Addison, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

McCullough, of the 4100 block of West Cornelia, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:27 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Monday was inconclusive, with results pending further studies.
