Three people were taken to hospitals after an ammonia leak at a factory Tuesday afternoon in the Northwest Side Irving Park neighborhood.

A Level 2 HazMat response was called was at Koch Foods Inc. at 4405 W. Berteau because of the ammonia leak, according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Will Knight.

Three workers were taken to hospitals, where their conditions stabilized, Knight said.

The HazMat situation has been secured by the fire department.
