Man robs Citibank branch in Garfield Ridge

A man robbed a bank Monday afternoon in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The suspect entered the Citibank branch at 5674 S. Archer about 4:45 p.m., according to the FBI and Chicago Police.

He waited in line, then handed the teller a note demanding money, police said. The teller complied and the suspect ran out.

He is described as a white man 5-foot-5 to 6-foot, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and gray and red hat, according to the FBI.

The man did not show a weapon, nor imply he had one, and no injuries were reported.

There have been 64 bank robberies in the Chicago area so far in 2015, according to the FBI. In 2014, there were 192.
