LeBron James did everything he could to will his depleted Cavaliers team to an NBA Finals championship. He came up short.

After a tough loss in Game 5 and his team down 3-2, James was questioned about the Cavs’ ability to come back. The unselfish superstar made a bold comment: “I’m confident because I’m the best player in the world. It’s that simple.”

Well, the “best player in the world” title was reclaimed by Steph Curry after the Warriors disposed of the Cavs in Game 6, thanks to teammate Klay Thompson, who clearly shaded LeBron with this comment during the postgame news conference:
