Man shot in Englewood

A man was shot Thursday night in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 27-year-old was standing on a porch in the 700 block of West 59th Street about 11:40 p.m. when someone walked up and fired shots, striking him in the chest, police said.

He was taken by a friend to Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
