Man shot to death in Uptown

A 19-year-old man was shot to death in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side late Wednesday.

Sam L. Johnson was found by police in an alley in the 4400 block of North Magnolia about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday with gunshot wounds to his side, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Johnson, who lived on the same block where he was shot, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where hewas pronounced dead at 12:24 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.

Police said the shooting may have been a drive-by attack.
