A woman died after falling from a second-story balcony early Thursday near DePaul University’s Lincoln Park campus on the North Side.

Karlie Aubry, 23, was leaning over the balcony railing about 12:40 a.m. when she fell from the building in the 2200 block of North Halsted, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Aubry, of the 2800 block of North Orchard, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 6:38 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Friday found she died of multiple injuries from a fall from a height due to alcohol intoxication, the medical examiner’s office said. Her death was ruled an accident.

Area Central detectives are conducting a death investigation.
