A man was shot to death Thursday night in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

About 9:50 p.m., the 43-year-old was outside in the 6600 block of South Champlain when he heard shots ring out and felt pain, police said.

He was shot in the abdomen, chest and hip and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the fatality Friday morning.
