Bulls fans hope Fred Hoiberg’s success during his NBA career doesn’t follow him to the NBA as a coach, because it wasn’t good.

When Hoiberg was a guard for the Bulls from 1999-2003, his winning percentage was .253, which is the worst four-year span in franchise history. In his first two seasons with the Bull, they went 32-132.

Hoiberg said at his press conference on Tuesday that he has learned how to coach from his 10 seasons in the NBA as a player, and his three seasons as an assistant general manager of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Even when he was an assistant general manager, the Timberwolves made bad decisions.

The former Iowa State coach was involved in drafting Jonny Flynn, who isn’t currently playing in the NBA, and Ricky Rubio, who has been plagued by constant injuries throughout his four year career, during the 2009 draft.
