Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders head to Hollywood for campaign cash

Even though Hillary Clinton knows there’s lots of campaign moolah to be mined in Hollywood, the former secretary of state made it clear over the weekend she’s not planning on being elected to be a third term of Bill Clinton OR Barack Obama — but her own first term. Clinton made that point at a backyard fundraiser hosted by Tobey Maguire and his wife, Jennifer Meyer, where Leonardo DiCaprio and Elizabeth Banks were among those in attendance.

At the event, the former first lady and New York senator gave what was described as a “stump speech” — touching on the economy, expanding opportunities for the LGBT community, the threat of ISIS, clean energy and working with Republicans to make legislation happen. She did not mention the tragic massacre in Charleston, S.C., earlier in the week.

• While Clinton was on the West Coast, her Democratic primary opponent, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, was also in Los Angeles, attending two lower-key events that raised much less than Clinton. Among the Sanders boosters on hand were “Days of Our Lives” actress Deidre Hall and ex-California state senator Tom Hayden, once married to Jane Fonda.
