A cabdriver was stabbed during an attempted robbery late Monday in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 31-year-old driver was stabbed in the neck by a passenger who tried to rob him about 11:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of North Sacramento, Chicago Police said.

The passenger then ran off in an unknown direction, police said.

The cabdriver was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious condition, police said.
